Tour Itinerary 12 days, the legacy of Peru

First day:

• Reception and transfer from Lima airport to the Hotel (in the morning).
• City tour in the “City of the Kings” (from 14:00 hrs to 18:30 hrs).
• Accommodation in selected hotel in Lima.

Second day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer from the hotel to the airport in Lima.
• Travel by plane from Lima to Cusco (1:15 hours) (NOT INCLUDED).
• Reception and transfer from the airport in Cusco to the hotel (in the morning).
• City tour in Cusco: The Cathedral, Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay (13:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.).
• Accommodation in the selected hotel in Cusco.

Third day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Tour to Sacred Valley of the Incas: Artisan Market of Pisac, archaeological center of Pisac and Ollantaytambo (8hrs – 16hrs)
• Buffet lunch included in Urubamba.
• Inca Rail Train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (From 16:36 pm to 18:09 pm).
• Transfer from the Aguas Calientes station to the hotel.
• Accommodation at selected hotel in Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu.

Fourth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• 5:30 am. Riding by bus to Machu Picchu.
• 6:00 am. View of the sunrise in Machu Picchu.
• Guided Tour in Machu Picchu (approximately 3 hours).
• Hike to Huaynapicchu (3 hours, without guide) (optional)
• Bus return to Aguas Calientes.
• Lunch in Aguas Calientes.
• Return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (From 19: 00hrs – 20:40hrs)
• Transfer from the train station to your hotel in Cusco.

Fifth day:

• Tour to Moray and Salineras (08:45 – 14:00 hrs).

Sixth day:

• Transfer from the hotel to the bus terminal from Cusco to Puno.
• Guided tour on the route of the Sun (Cusco to Puno) (06:40 hrs – 17:30 hrs).

Seventh day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Tour on Lake Titicaca: Island of Uros and Taquile.
• Overnight at selected hotel in Puno.

Eighth day:

• Tour to the Chullpas of Sillustani.
• Transfer from hotel in Puno to Juliaca airport (one hour).

Tenth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Overflight on the Nazca Lines.
• Travel by bus from Nazca to Paracas (13:00 hrs – 16:00 hrs).

Eleventh day:

• Tour to the islands crossbow.

Tour Description

First day: Welcome and City Tour in the city of Kings:

Upon your arrival to Jorge Chavez International Airport, where our staff will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name, you will be transported to your selected hotel. You will be given free time to enjoy our impressive gastronomy. In the afternoon we will start our tour by stopping in the smallest district of Lima, Barranco, where the famous Bridge of Sighs, the Hermitage and the monument to Isabel Granada Larco “Chabuca Granda”. We will arrive to Miraflores to see the Park of Love with its panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana, a Pre Inca religious temple and administrative center inhabited between the III and VIII centuries d.c. We will take a walk through the park of the olive trees, which date back from the Viceroyalty with an area of 23 hectares. After a short 6km walk we will arrive at an historical center where you will appreciate the Palace of Justice, Paseo de los Heroes Navales, the French Palace and other colonial buildings such as the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, The Municipal Palace, the Plaza San Martin, among others.
We visit the Museum of the Nation, where you can see a collection of gold from Peru and a selection of ceramics, goldsmiths and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures. Continuing our tour of the Church and Convent of San Francisco and highlighting the visit with its underground crypts known as Catacombs and then return to the hotel.

Second day: Travel by plane from Lima to Cusco and City tour in Cusco:

After breakfast, our staff will arrive to your hotel to transfer you to the airport for your flight from Lima to Cusco. Upon arrival to the city of Cusco our personnel will be waiting for you, with a poster displaying your name, to transport you to the hotel of your choice. You will have free time to rest, adapt to the altitude and enjoy a meal. Between 13pm and 13:30pm we will be passing by your hotel to begin the tour, we will visit: The Cathedral, colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value, the Korikancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate some of the finest work that the Incas performed on stone. Continuing with the tour we will go to Sacsayhuamán, a fortress with a strategic location, offering an unrivaled view of the city, where the Inti Raymi or “Fiesta del Sol” is held every June 24. After of which we will visit Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucará, archaeological complexes of religious character.

Third day: Tour in the Sacred Valley of the Inkas and Aguas Calientes.

At the indicated time we will pick you up from your hotel before heading along a paved road across the mountains and into the village of Pisaq which is located 32 km from the city of Cusco. Once we arrive we will have free time to visit its colorful markets and purchase some of the most beautiful handmade crafts and souvenirs. We will continue our trip to Urubamba for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, then we will visit Ollantaytambo (the only city where the maintains the ancient layout made by the great Inka architects). In the afternoon we board the train to Aguas Calientes.

Fourth day: Tour to Machu Picchu “The lost city of the Incas” and trek to Huaynapicchu.

After breakfast at the hotel, along with the guide you will have the wonderful opportunity of visiting the mysteriously charming, Machu Picchu which is considered as one of the 7 wonders of the world. At 11am, we will hike to Huaynapicchu (the mountain from where you have a spectacular view of the Machupicchu valley) and at the appropriate time we will begin our descent to the village of Aguas Calientes to have some lunch. In the afternoon we will board the train to Ollantaytambo where our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel.

Fifth day: Tour to Maras, Moray and Salineras.

After breakfast we will pass by your hotel at about 08:45 hrs. In our mobility, on our way to Maras we will pass through with very colorful landscapes. We will firstly visit Moray, considered an Inca agricultural research center, where experiments were carried out at different heights. Its platforms produce a gradient of microclimates with the center of the concentric circular platforms having a higher temperature and gradually reducing outwards to lower temperatures, thus being able to simulate up to 20 different types of microclimates. It is believed that Moray could have served as a model for the calculation of agricultural production not only in the Urubamba Valley but also in different parts of the Tahuantinsuyo. Continuing with our trip we will visit the famous salt mines of Maras which are made up of about 3000 small wells, built on one side of the slope of the mountain of “Qaqawiñay”. During the dry season they are filled every 3 days, with salt water that emanates from a natural spring which is located at the top of the wells. The water later evaporates and the salt contained in it will gradually solidify. The pools are now owned and used by the locals.

Sixth day: Guided tour on the route Cusco – Puno: Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Sicuani, La Raya and Pucará.

After breakfast you will be transferred to the bus station to Cusco. We will start our visit to Pucara, where we will visit the Lítico Museum. This museum allows us to immerse ourselves in the history and evolution of the Andean man from the primitive time. After Pucara will we take the route through the high Andean esplanades, before making a stop in La Raya, the highest point of the route from where you will be able to take excellent photographs. We will have lunch in a Restaurant of the area in Sicuani. Then we will visit Racchi, where the “Temple of God Wiracocha” is located and finally we will visit Andahuaylillas, which for its valuable works of art, is considered the Sixteenth Chapel of America. Finally we will be arriving to the city of Cusco, where our staff will be waiting for you to provide the transfer service to your Hotel.

Seventh day: Tour to Lake Titicaca, Uros and Taquile Islands

After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the port of Puno where you will board the boat from which you will visit the Floating Islands of the Uros which are considered as artificial or floating islands. This part of the tour will take about 45 minutes, after of which we will continue with a visit to the Taquile Island of great landscape, ethnic, cultural and archaeological value. At 17:30 we will be returning to the hotel.

Eighth day: Transfer from hotel in Puno to Juliaca Airport and flight from Juliaca to Lima:

At the organised time, our staff is going to pick you up from the hotel before visiting the Chullpas of Sillustani and continueing on to the airport of Juliaca, where you will board the flight to the city of Lima. Upon your arriving you will be transported to your selected hotel in Lima.

Ninth day: Trip to the Nazca Lines

After a free morning of relaxation, our staff will come to your hotel to transfer you to the land terminal where we will take the bus to the city of Nazca. After arriving to the city our staff will transport you to your hotel to give you more details of the tours to come.

Tenth day: Overflight in Nazca Lines and transfer of Nazca to Paracas.

After breakfast we will transfer you to the Nazca aerodrome. Before boarding the plane you will receive previous information about the geoglyphs. The overflight in the Nazca Pampa has an average duration of 45 minutes. Many believe that these gigantic figures were made by extraterrestrials, among of which you can distinguish animals such as a monkey, a spider, a hummingbird, etc … After the flight we will board the mobility to Paracas, place where we will spend the night.

Eleventh day: Tour in Paracas National Reserve, Ballestas Islands, and transfer to Lima.

This day you will enjoy of the Ballestas Islands and Paracas National Reserve, where you could admire the different species of sea lions, seals, penguins and seabirds. In the evening you will board the bus to Lima, where you will spend the night.

Twelfth day: Tour to Caral “The oldest city in America” and farewell.

In the morning our staff will arrive to your hotel to start the Caral tour which is located north of the city of Lima, in the Supe Valley which is considered the oldest city in America. Almost as old as Egypt, Mesopotamia, India and China. It was formed by a set of buildings, which shows us the great scientific, technological and artistic advances achieved by its inhabitants. There is a surprising process of development that occurred in total isolation compared to the cultural exchange of the societies of the old continent. Finishing the tour we will offer the service of transferring you to the airport thus ending our services.
