Itinerary Tour 12 days, the great south of Peru

First day:

• Reception and transfer from Lima airport to the Hotel (in the morning).
• City tour in the “City of the Kings” (from 14:00 hrs to 18:30 hrs).
• Accommodation in selected hotel in Lima.

Second day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer from the hotel to the airport in Lima.
• Travel by plane from Lima to Cusco (1:15 hours) (NOT INCLUDED).
• Reception and transfer from the airport in Cusco to the hotel (in the morning).
• City tour in Cusco: The Cathedral, Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay (13:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.).
• Accommodation in the selected hotel in Cusco.

Third day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas: Artisan Market of Pisac, archaeological center of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero (8hrs – 6:30 p.m.)
• Buffet lunch included in Urubamba.
• Accommodation in the selected hotel in Cusco.

Fourth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Transfer from your Hotel to Poroy Station (6:30 a.m. -7: 00hrs)
• Train Travel from Poroy Station – Aguas Calientes Station (7:42 p.m. – 11:15 p.m.).
• Transfer from the Aguas Calientes station to the hotel.
• Accommodation at selected hotel in Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu.

Fifth day:

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• 5:30 am. Riding by bus to Machu Picchu.
• 6:00 am. View of the sunrise in Machu Picchu.
• Guided Tour in Machu Picchu (approximately 3 hours).
• Hike to Huaynapicchu (3 hours, without guide) (optional)
• Bus return to Aguas Calientes.
• Lunch in Aguas Calientes.
• Return by train from Aguas Calientes to Poroy (From 16: 23hrs – 20: 10hrs)

• Guided Tour Visiting the Bird and Vicuña Observatory (Puno – Arequipa) (06:15 hrs – 12:15 hrs)
• Reception and transfer from the Terminal in Arequipa to the hotel.
• City Tour in Arequipa: Convent of Santa Catalina, cloisters of the Company of Jesus, the neighborhoods of Cayma, Yanahuara, a magnificent view of the volcano El Misti. (2:00 p.m. – 18:00 p.m.).

Tenth day:

Tour Description 12 days, the great south of Peru

First day: Welcome and City Tour in the city of Kings:

Upon your arrival to Jorge Chavez International Airport, where our staff will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name, you will be transported to your selected hotel. You will be given free time to enjoy our impressive gastronomy. In the afternoon we will start our tour by stopping in the smallest district of Lima, Barranco, where the famous Bridge of Sighs, the Hermitage and the monument to Isabel Granada Larco “Chabuca Granda”. We will arrive to Miraflores to see the Park of Love with its panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana, a Pre Inca religious temple and administrative center inhabited between the III and VIII centuries d.c. We will take a walk through the park of the olive trees, which date back from the Viceroyalty with an area of 23 hectares. After a short 6km walk we will arrive at an historical center where you will appreciate the Palace of Justice, Paseo de los Heroes Navales, the French Palace and other colonial buildings such as the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, The Municipal Palace, the Plaza San Martin, among others.
We visit the Museum of the Nation, where you can see a collection of gold from Peru and a selection of ceramics, goldsmiths and textiles from various pre-Columbian cultures. Continuing our tour of the Church and Convent of San Francisco and highlighting the visit with its underground crypts known as Catacombs and then return to the hotel.

Second day: Travel by plane from Lima to Cusco and City tour in Cusco:

After breakfast, our staff will arrive to your hotel to transfer you to the airport for your flight from Lima to Cusco. Upon arrival to the city of Cusco our personnel will be waiting for you, with a poster displaying your name, to transport you to the hotel of your choice. You will have free time to rest, adapt to the altitude and enjoy a meal. Between 13pm and 13:30pm we will be passing by your hotel to begin the tour, we will visit: The Cathedral, colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value, the Korikancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate some of the finest work that the Incas performed on stone. Continuing with the tour we will go to Sacsayhuamán, a fortress with a strategic location, offering an unrivaled view of the city, where the Inti Raymi or “Fiesta del Sol” is held every June 24. After of which we will visit Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucará, archaeological complexes of religious character.

Third day: Tour in the Sacred Valley of the Inkas and Aguas Calientes.

At the indicated time we will pick you up from your hotel before heading along a paved road across the mountains and into the village of Pisaq which is located 32 km from the city of Cusco. Once we arrive we will have free time to visit its colorful markets and purchase some of the most beautiful handmade crafts and souvenirs. We will continue our trip to Urubamba for a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, then we will visit Ollantaytambo (the only city where the maintains the ancient layout made by the great Inka architects). In the afternoon we board the train to Aguas Calientes.

Fourth day: Trip to Machu Picchu and free day in Aguas Calientes.

This tour begins with the pick up service from your respective hotel in the city of Cusco, one hour before the departure of the train which will bring you to the station of Poroy, located 20 minutes from the city. The Train company is called “PERU RAIL” and they will take you to the town of “Aguas Calientes” (2000mts) and the journey lasts approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes. In Aguas Calientes our hotel staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the hotel where you will have a free day in Aguas Calientes. It is recommended for you to visit the Manuel Chávez Ballón site museum, the “Pillpi Wasi” Mariposario or the Thermo Medicinal Waters. At night our guide visit you to give you the necessary information for the tour the following day.

Fifth day: Tour to Machu Picchu “The lost city of the Incas” and trek to Huaynapicchu.

In the morning we will go to the bus station, to begin to acsend 450mt high by a zigzaged road for about 30 minutes until we reach the world wonder, “The Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu”, as so known as “The Lost City of the Incas” .
Upon arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu, we will pass through the control, where we will give our tickets and begin our guided tour. We will be visiting the Main Square, Circular Tower, Sacred Solar clock, the royal quarters, Temple of Three Windows and the cemeteries, for more than two hours. Then you will be given free time, to take a walk through the citadel, in the afternoon we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and head to your Hotel, to collect your bags, and arrive at the train station to begin our return to the city of Cusco. Our staff will be waiting for you at Poroy station to transfer you to your Hotel.

Sixth day: Tour to Maras, Moray and Salineras.

After breakfast we will pass by your hotel at about 08:45 hrs. In our mobility, on our way to Maras we will pass through with very colorful landscapes. We will firstly visit Moray, considered an Inca agricultural research center, where experiments were carried out at different heights. Its platforms produce a gradient of microclimates with the center of the concentric circular platforms having a higher temperature and gradually reducing outwards to lower temperatures, thus being able to simulate up to 20 different types of microclimates. It is believed that Moray could have served as a model for the calculation of agricultural production not only in the Urubamba Valley but also in different parts of the Tahuantinsuyo. Continuing with our trip we will visit the famous salt mines of Maras which are made up of about 3000 small wells, built on one side of the slope of the mountain of “Qaqawiñay”. During the dry season they are filled every 3 days, with salt water that emanates from a natural spring which is located at the top of the wells. The water later evaporates and the salt contained in it will gradually solidify. The pools are now owned and used by the locals.

Seventh day: Guided tour on the route Cusco – Puno: Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Sicuani, La Raya and Pucará.

After breakfast you will be transferred to the bus station to Cusco. We will start our visit to Pucara, where we will visit the Lítico Museum. This museum allows us to immerse ourselves in the history and evolution of the Andean man from the primitive time. After Pucara will we take the route through the high Andean esplanades, before making a stop in La Raya, the highest point of the route from where you will be able to take excellent photographs. We will have lunch in a Restaurant of the area in Sicuani. Then we will visit Racchi, where the “Temple of God Wiracocha” is located and finally we will visit Andahuaylillas, which for its valuable works of art, is considered the Sixteenth Chapel of America. Finally we will be arriving to the city of Cusco, where our staff will be waiting for you to provide the transfer service to your Hotel.

Eighth day: Tour to Lake Titicaca, Uros Islands and Taquile.

After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the port of Puno where you will board the boat from which you will visit the Floating Islands of the Uros which are considered as artificial or floating islands. This part of the tour will take about 45 minutes, after of which we will continue with a visit to the Taquile Island of great landscape, ethnic, cultural and archaeological value. At 17:30 we will be returning to the hotel.

Ninth day: Tour of Puno to Arequipa and City tour in the White City.

At the organised time, our staff will collect you from your hotel beforing boarding the tourist bus to the city of Arequipa, the white city. Along the way we will be able to observe lagoons, birds and vicuñas. We will arrive to Arequipa at 12 noon and after a delicous lunch we will take a tour of the viewpoint of Carmen Alto, Mirador de Yanahuara, Monastery of Santa Catalina, Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, Church and Cloisters of the Company of Jesus.

Tenth day: Trip to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest of America.

After breakfast our staff will pick you up from your hotel for your trip to the Colca Valley. We will be passing by the Chachani Volcano and the National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas, where we will observe the vicuñas. Continuing through Vizcachani, Pampa de Toccra we will observe a variety of birds and later we will arrive to the Mirador de los Andes from where you can see the volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa. In the afternoon we will descend to the village of Chivay and after lunch we will visit the Hot Springs La Calera.

Day Eleven: Travel to the Cross of the Condor in the Colca Canyon.

Early in the morning we will head to Cruz del Cóndor, a spectacular spot from where you can enjoy the flight of the condors. On our return we will visit the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Yanque and the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico. At noon we will return to Chivay and after lunch we will be returning to the city of Arequipa.

Twelfth day: Travel by plane from Arequipa to Lima and farewell.

Two hours before the departure of your flight to the city of Lima, we will pick you up from your hotel and then transport you to the airport, where we will say goodbye and end our services.
