Itinerary

First day:

  • Reception and transfer from Cusco airport to the hotel (in the morning).

Tour Description

First day: Welcome and City tour in Cusco.

Upon your arrival to our city of Cusco a representative of ours will be waiting for you, with a sign displaying your name, to transport you to the hotel of your choice. You will have free time to rest, adapt to the altitude and have a meal. Between 13pm and 13:30 pm we will be passing by your hotel to start the tour, we will visit: The Cathedral, colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value, the Qorikancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the very fine work which the Incas performed on the stone. Continuing with the tour we will go to Sacsayhuamán, a fortress with a strategic location, offering an unrivaled view of the city, where the Inti Raymi or “Fiesta del Sol” is held every June 24, after which we will visit Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca Pucará, archaeological complexes of religious character.

Second day: Tour in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

At the indicated time we will go to the hotel to pick you up to begin the tour. Along the way we will stop at the natural viewpoint of Taray, where the guide will give you an introduction about the Sacred Valley. The first place to visit is Pisaq, one of the most important archeological centers of the area. There we explore the colorful craft market where you can shop for some handmade souvenirs. We will later continue our trip to Urubamba where we will have a buffet lunch in an exclusive restaurant. In the afternoon we will visit the Citadel of Ollantaytambo (only city that maintains the urban trajectory realized by the great Inca architects) and to finish the tour arrive at the picturesque Pueblito de Chinchero.

Third day: Vinicunca Trekking, Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca.

Very early, at 4:30 am we will pick you up from your respective hotels in the city of Cusco, then transport you in a private tourist van to Pitumarca. The journey lasts for about 3 hours passing by the skirts of the snowy Mountain, Ausangate. Upon our arrival in Pitumarca we will stop to taste a delicious breakfast and the guide will give us a short introduction of the place before, we start our trek uphill towards the seven colors. The ascent lasts for 03 hours and during the trip we will have the opportunity to see a variety South American camelids, sheep, birds, lagoons, plateaus, streams and snowcapped mountain ranges. At approximately 10:00 am we will be arriving at our main destination, The Rainbow Mountain, a unique place that geography capriciously formed as if they had been painted by hand and brush. Here we will have time to take some of the best photographs and after an hour or so, we will get to descend approximately arriving at Quesoyoni at 3.00 and after a comforting lunch we will board our transport to return to the city of Cusco arriving at the average of the 19: 00 hrs.

Fourth day: Tour to Maras, Moray and Salineras

After breakfast we will pass by your hotel at around 08:45 hrs to transport you to the region of Maras enjoying the colorful landscapes along the way. We will firstly visit Moray, considered an Inca agricultural research center, where crop experiments were carried out at different heights. Its platforms produce a gradient of microclimates with the center of concentric circular platforms having a higher temperature above and gradually reducing outwards to lower temperatures, thus being able to simulate up to 20 different types of microclimates. It is believed that Moray could have served as a model for the calculation of agricultural production not only in the Urubamba Valley but also in different parts of the Tahuantinsuyo. Continuing with our trip we will visit the famous salt marshes of Maras known by some as “salt mines”. They are made up of about 3000 small wells, built on a side of the slope of the mountain of “Qaqawiñay”, which during the dry season are filled with salt water every 3 days, that emanates from a natural spring located at the top of the wells, once the water evaporates, the salt contained in it will gradually solidify. These pools are now owned and run by the locals of today.

Fifth day: Hidroelectric hike – Aguas Calientes

Beginning of the tour (7:30 am) we head to OLLANTAYTAMBO enjoying beautiful scenery of the area. Where we will make a brief stop of approximately 20 minutes. Afterwards we will continue our journey through a winding road towards ABRA MÁLAGA, located at 4316masl at this point we will be able to observe the most wonderful landscapes of the Peruvian geography. We will stop for a few minutes to get some amazing pictures of the area. After a short stop we will begin the descent into the jungle passing through the different altitudinal floors that combine paradisiacal landscapes with the majestic snowcaps of the hot Inca jungle. To the height of SANTA MARÍA, Located at 1575 masl, to this point from the city of Cusco we find a path in perfect conditions, completely paved. Once we arrive at the town of Santa Maria we will drive by a road that is not asphalted but if In good conditions (unpaved), where we will continue to the village of SANTA TERESA located at 1500 m Where we will be waiting for a delicious lunch with a variation of food for the customer’s taste, after our lunch we will continue driving for about 40 more minutes to finally arrive at the hydroelectric power station of Machupicchu (arrival approximately 3:00 p.m)
Here we are waiting for the Company Staff, to start the walk towards the town of AGUAS CALIENTES, this walk has a duration of approximately. 2 Hours with 30 minutes, Under the Inca forest where we can already see the majestic citadel of Machupicchu, Huaynapicchu and a variation of flora and fauna. At approximately 5:45 pm we will be arriving to the town of Aguas Calientes, from there they will be granted your respective accommodations in the hostel and then you can enjoy your free time visiting the hot springs village or the thermo medicinal baths of the village. At 8:00 p.m approximately we will enjoy a delicious dinner at which a chat will be given by the guide who will be in charge of the guided tour of the citadel of Machupicchu.

Sixth day: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Santa Teresa – Cusco

Very early we will go to the Sanctuary of Machupicchu, if you wish to carry out the walk with a duration of 1 and a half hours you can or if you want you can purchase bus tickets up to the sanctuary with a duration of 30 minutes. The group will meet at the main entrance into Machupicchu between 6:00 am and 6:30 am and after registering we will enter, to begin the guided tour of two hours. Over the during of this time we will be exploring the most important areas of the Sanctuary of Machupicchu. After you will have some free time to visit some other parts and take all of those once-in-a-life-time photos. At approximately 12:00 pm the group we gather to leave the Sanctuary of Machupicchu to be able to return to the village of Aguas Calientes. From there we shall return by foot to the Hydroelectrica station where our staff will be waiting for us to transport us on our return to the city of Cusco via the same route. Transport will be leaving between 14:30hrs and 15:00hrs, and arriving at Cusco around 21:00 hours.

Seventh day: Trekking to the Lagoon of Humantay

We will pass by your hotel to collect you between 4:30 to 5:00am to begin our travel towards the town of Mollepata, in the exuberant valley of the Apurímac River. After a well-deserved breakfast, to fill us with energy we will continue our trip to Soraypampa (3900mts). After a short rest here, we will begin our trek towards Lagoon Humantay located at 4200mt/13779 feet, after the ascent of 2 hours approximately and taking some time to appreciate such beautiful surroundings, we will return to our camp for a lunch with panoramic views of the snowy mountain peaks. Later will be transferred to Cusco.

Eighth day: Trekking to the Viewpoint of Condors in Chonta

We pick you up from your hotel around at 8:00 in the morning, to begin our travel the Cusco via the Limatambo route by an asphalt road for approximately 2 hours. During this trip we will be making stops at some archeological areas such as KILARUMIYOC and TARAWASI that with the help of our professional guide, we will learn a little more about the Inca culture and the activity of the current local man. Continuing our trip to the Huayronca Bridge, where we will take an unpaved road to the community of Chonta, during this trip we will ascend until the 3400mts. We are going to stop at some other key points to take come amazing photos with the Salkantay snowshoe and the Limatambo valley. We will arrive at the village of Chonta at around 12:00 pm where we will enjoy our packed lunch while observing the snowy Salkantay.
Later we will begin our walk of approximately 1 hour and a half by an ample road to the viewpoint of the Canyon of the condor at 3350mtrs. From this point we will have the opportunity to witness the flight of the Andean Condor in its natural habitat where we shall spend some time enjoying. We will not have to wait for long to see them, since the condors usually return in the afternoon between 3:00 pm to their nests. Here you will have very good opportunity to see the condors very closely.
Later we will return walking to the village of Chonta and then in our car to the city of Cusco. Arrival time approximately at 20:00 hours.

Ninth day: Farewell
